Key Responsibilities

As a Data Analytics Intern, you will play a pivotal role in integrating advanced analytics into UNFPA’s oversight processes. Your responsibilities will include:

• Collaborating with audit teams to define and document data requirements.
• Extracting and processing datasets from operational systems like Oracle ERP.
• Designing and implementing ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) pipelines.
• Writing scripts for automated data validation and analysis.
• Conducting exploratory data analysis and applying statistical methods.
• Developing interactive dashboards and visualizations using tools like Power BI.
• Researching and implementing machine learning models for anomaly detection and risk assessment.
• Supporting the integration of AI and LLM-based tools for enhanced oversight.

Educational Requirements

Applicants must meet at least one of the following criteria:

• Currently enrolled in a postgraduate program (Master’s or higher) in data science, computer engineering, statistics, mathematics, or related disciplines.
• Final-year undergraduate students in relevant fields.
• Recent graduates (within the last year) able to start the internship within 12 months of graduation.

Technical Skills and Experience

Candidates should possess:

• Strong knowledge of data models, ETL processes, and database design.
• Advanced Python proficiency for data engineering and machine learning.
• Understanding of statistical concepts such as regression, distribution, and hypothesis testing.
• Familiarity with business intelligence tools (Power BI highly desirable).
• Awareness of AI and LLM technologies is advantageous.

Language Requirements

• Fluency in English (written and spoken) is mandatory.
• Knowledge of additional UN languages (French, Arabic, Chinese, Spanish, or Russian) is a plus.
