Key Responsibilities & Requirements
To succeed in this role, candidates should possess:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Television Production, Media Studies, Broadcasting, or a closely related field (equivalent professional experience is also acceptable).
- 3–7 years of hands-on experience directing live television—preferably in sports, entertainment, or news programming.
- Strong competence in multi-camera directing, live vision mixing, and OB/studio control room operations.
- Deep understanding of broadcast systems, signal flow, and modern production technologies.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and time-management abilities.
- Ability to stay calm, focused, and decisive during high-pressure live transmissions.
- A creative approach to storytelling, with clear skills in visual composition, pacing, and scene flow.
Preferred Skills (Added Advantage)
If you bring any of the following, it will strengthen your application:
- Experience using systems such as Ross Carbonite, Grass Valley, or Sony switchers.
- Familiarity with broadcast automation and graphic systems like VizRT, Chyron, or similar platforms.
- Previous involvement in sports production, live events, or outside broadcasting (OB) environments.
