A Record-Breaking Tournament
The 2026 FIFA World Cup™ will feature 48 national teams, 16 vibrant host cities across Canada, Mexico, and the United States, and six weeks of non-stop football excitement. Volunteers will form the backbone of this massive operation, ensuring fans, players, and officials enjoy a seamless tournament experience.
By joining, you also become part of the FIFA Volunteer Community, now over one million strong worldwide—united by passion for football and service.
What Volunteers Will Do
Volunteers will work across more than 23 functional areas, including:
- Stadium and training venue operations
- Airport and hotel support
- Fan zones and city-wide events
- Logistics and transport
- Accreditation and hospitality
- Media assistance and language services

One standout member is Craig Collins, the one-millionth volunteer to join FIFA’s global community. Having served at the 1994 FIFA World Cup USA™ and the FIFA Club World Cup 2025™ in Atlanta, he’s ready to return in 2026: “I’m proud to be part of this moment for FIFA and my city. I can’t wait to show my community to the world again.”
Who Can Apply?
The programme is open to everyone who meets these criteria:
- 18+ years old at the time of application
- Eligible to volunteer in the host country
- Good command of English
- For Mexico: Spanish and English preferred
- For Canada: French is a plus
- Additional languages are welcome
No previous volunteer experience is required—FIFA provides full training.
