An incriminating secret police video recording of murder-accused, Christopher Panayiotou, talking to Luthando Siyoni, the alleged middleman in the murder of his wife Jayde, was played in court on Wednesday.
On Monday, Judge Dyalin Chetty, ruled in a trial within a trial, that the video recording is admissible as evidence.
Police witnesses testified and were cross-examined about the video recording during proceedings today, after the defence abandoned their bid for Judge Chetty to recuse himself.
In the recording, Panayiotou is heard expressing his unhappiness with Siyoni about the way things turned out on the day his wife was abducted and later murdered in April 2015.
“I swear on my life, I didn’t say anything. They are obviously seeing who I have been phoning. They are tapping my phone and every number I phone. They are investigating my family too. Somebody said something. That’s what I said to you. It became a kidnapping and then a murder instead of just making it a robbery outside the house,” he said.

Panayiotou also talks about Luthando Siyoni needing to disappear, adding that they should also break-off contact.
