Cape Town – Two men have been murdered in a drive-by shooting in Mitchells Plain in what is believed to be a gang hit.
The police were called to the robots on the corners of AZ Berman Drive and Morgenster Road, in Beacon Valley, just before 8 pm on Tuesday where they found the bodies of the men slumped in their car seats.
The windows of the silver Mazda they were travelling in were shattered.
A large crowd of shocked community members rushed to the scene, including some gang members.
Two women, who were backseat passengers in the car, were unharmed in the attack.
The deceased have been identified as Arenzio “Bully” Meyer and Devon “Tubs” Pearson, both of Bonteheuwel.
It is believed they were alleged members of the Junky Funky gang and also suspected hitmen.
One of the women has been identified as one of the men’s girlfriend’s, while the other woman was said to be a daughter of one of the passengers.
The group had been travelling from Mitchells Plain Melomed Hospital when the drama unfolded opposite Promenade Mall.
