‘Prophet’ Shepherd Bushiri’s Church Closed Down Over Miracle Money

Prophet Shepherd Bushiri’s church, the Enlightened Christian Gathering (ECG), has been closed down in Botswana. This after it allegedly violated the country’s laws by “producing miracle money.”

Authorities say that the church had ignored several warnings to stop the practice of miracle money hence the move to ban it.

The church’s countrywide cells have been ordered to cease operations. However, the ECG has since appealed to the authorities.

The self confessed prophet made headlines in South Africa and around the world when he appeared in a video “walking in thin air” among other miracles.

In Zimbabwe he is famed for a “prophecy’ in November 2016 that then Minister of State Security Kembo Mohadi was going to receive a “crown” representing a promotion as well as wealth.

In January Mohadi was named by President Emmerson Mnangagwa as one of his Vice Presidents together with former Zimbabwe Defence Forces Commander Retired General Constantino Chiwenga.

Some have concluded that Bushiri’s word was fulfilled.

The move by the Botswana government has split social media followers apart.

Here are some of the comments on Facebook and Twitter where the drama is playing out.

His followers who believe the church is being persecuted just as the bible says that in the end times the church shall be wrongly persecuted. Their case is made strong by a recent “prophecy” by Bushiri that the devil was working hard to close down his church.

On the other hand, non-followers believe that the man’s trickery has successfully blinkered the poor and desperate to only believe what he says while he milk them of their hard earned money.
