Community breathing fire after loan shark seizes house for a R100 loan

Police pulled the woman away from the marauding crowd.

Angry community members in Soweto’s Protea City were stopped by the police from attacking a 36 year old woman who allegedly bought a house for R100.

The woman gave brothers Justice (26) and Thabo Rakgalane (24) R100 to buy drugs and went on to make them sign an affidavit to say if they could not pay back the money she would take the house.

On Sunday, the woman almost met her creator as angry community members armed with all sorts of weapons came baying for her blood after she had ‘hijacked’ the house from the men. Quick police action saved the day for her.

Upon failure to pay back the R100 the loan shark moved in with the men and demanded they pay or leave the house.

Community leader Thabo Mazibuko (34) claimed the woman admitted she had taken the brothers’ ID books.

“We will not let predators like this woman prey on the most vulnerable of our society”

“The community had a meeting and she admitted she had the IDs but said she would not give them back,” claimed Thabo.

“She told us she would stay in the house until the boys paid back her R100.”

Cops said they have given the woman seven days to return the IDs to the brothers. After that residents would help the boys lay charges of theft against the woman.
